WOL Story
In the canon story, Wyra is the Warrior of Light and performs about 90% of the actions that are attributed to the player in-game.

Childhood Through the Calamity
Born in the Black Shroud to moon miqo'te mother (Ara Dakwhil) and sun miqo'te father (W'haro Tia).
Mother was an above-average conjurer for the guild in Gridania, but settled in the North Shroud. Father was a so-so adventurer who never fit in well with his tribe and expectations for Tias, and settled down with Ara in her home. They had two children, Wyra and her older brother, Zhet.
Wyra was raised with a tiny bit of conjury education and strong superstition towards the elementals, but most strongly took after her father's skill with archery. Her brother was the better healer.
When the calamity began approaching, her father decided to join the Order of the Twin Adder to provide support and protect their home. He left and was likely lost in combat. Two weeks after losing contact, Wyra's mother left her children (Wyra, age 15, and Zhet, 16) with the plans to flee the North Shroud to live with their Moon Keeper cousins in Central Shroud, temporarily. Her mother was lost when Dalamud broke open, and Wyra developed the Echo.
After news of her parents' demise reached them, Zhet felt undervalued with his cousins and decided to leave and learn more about his Sun Seeker heritage. Wyra stayed with her moon cousins until she turned 17, but couldn't bring herself to move on from the feeling of hopelessness she was left from being unable to help her parents or any others who had been lost in the calamity. Having the Echo plagued her with a bombardment of people's emotions and loss from the calamity, spurring her to feel like she HAD to do something. She heard of the Warriors of Light and wanted to be as strong as they were, so she took her father's bow and set out to adventure herself.
Meeting and Joining the Scions
Traveling on her own, she grew in strength, taking on basic fetch quests and bounties. Her natural talent with archery carried her, but she traveled all over the shroud and picked up little bits of magic used by those she met. Largely, she kept to herself.
Eventually, she decided to travel back to Gridania to get more experience and training through the Archer's Guild, as well as sell things she'd gathered. On her first trip to Gridania in years, which happened to coincide with the fifth anniversary of her parents' death and the calamity, she shared the carriage with Alphinaud and Alisaie.
Shortly later, she met Papalymo and Lyse while performing other quests, and eventually got wrapped up in the Scions due to her Echo.
She views the Scions as an organization that might grant her opportunity to help others, so she joins, but she keeps a relative distance from many at first. She does slowly befriend Yda, Arenvale, and Una in particular, feeling somewhat intimidated or unexposed to the others.
When the Waking Sands is raided by the Garleans, she is shell-shocked, but still numb enough that she is not completely despaired. She becomes more resolved to fight the Garleans, who are the same side she blames for killing her parents.
As she gathers crystals of light and hears Hydaelyn's voice, she grows in strength, and finds herself laying low primal after primal and then helping to lead an attack on the Garleans to get back the captive Scions.
By the end, Wyra has come to view more of the scions as friends, as they help her to deal with her newfound fame as a "warrior of light."
When the Crystal Tower exploration begins, she gets involved with NOAH and meets G'raha Tia, though she doesn't care for him initially due to his somewhat whiny or bratty attitude. By the end, though, they grow closer and Wyra recognizes his devotion to his own duty, and she is sad to see him lock himself in the tower.
The Scar/Heavensward/Purple Magic
In the chaos of the escape from the Ul'Dahn banquet at the end of ARR, Wyra's eye is injured. They flee to Ishgard with Haurchefant's assistance and become wards of the House Fortemps.
She is heartbroken by not only the betrayal and loss of comrades, but the loss of her father's bow (confiscated from her room in the Rising Stones when the Crystal Braves attacked). Not only was the bow of great sentimental value, but with it was lost her ability to use a bow well -- her injured eye left her with poor depth perception, which was much needed to be an archer. As such, she turned to studying magic like her mother had -- and while she didn't have a skill for healing, she did have one for offensive magic. She studied every bit of magic she could come across in any spare time, finding herself surprised at her aptitude and fascination. Ultimately she discovered that she was best-suited to being an arcanist, and took up that as her primary job -- but she would still pull what she learned from thaumaturgy and conjury when necessary.
Her injured eye, left with a scar and mild temporary discoloration, reminds her of her failure and makes her feel extremely self-conscious. As such, she begins wearing wide-brimmed hats which cover her eye whenever possible. Because most everyone in Ishgard is taller than her by several heads, she feels secure in that most people wouldn't notice it. This anxiety over her scar fades over time, but the habit of wearing hats stays.
Over the course of HW, she grows closer to the Fortemps family and Haurchefant in particular, recognizing the debt she owes them for their hospitality and support. While initially unnerved by Haurchefant's flirting, she comes to realize it is an act and that he is actually a very sweet and caring friend. When he sacrifices himself to shield her, she is overwhelmed with grief and rage, flashing back to the same feelings of uselessness she experienced when her parents were lost. She sets herself on killing Thordan and his knights in revenge, and doesn't rest until she does. This is the first time her unhinged battle side comes out, and she taps into some of Azem's power. Going forward, she must keep a level head to avoid flashing back to the fury of battle and losing sight of her ideals of peace and mercy.
The Fortemps family still supports her after Haurchefant's death, and she comes to view them as family, visiting regularly and considering the manor her home outside the Rising Stones.
Ysayle also becomes a closer friend, after Wyra is able to get to know and travel with her. She admires her for her resolve, though as resident primalslayer, she hopes they can find a way for the war to end without needing to risk the land's aether. Her sacrifice, while still awful, doesn't make Wyra feel guilty as much as more steeled against the Garleans.
She also grows closer to Aymeric over the course of the story, but she reserves any feelings towards him beyond business at first because she believes he only sees her as useful. After getting to know him more as well as his background, she does become closer friends with him, and once she ends the Dragonsong War, there are even rumors that she and Aymeric were an item amongst the gossiping members of the city. Wyra did not actually harbor any romantic feelings towards him, though she suspected slightly that perhaps he did, based on Thancred's teasing and Aymeric's enthusiasm for their dinners together; both knew, though, that Wyra wouldn't be the kind of partner that would perform well as a "first lady" to the leader of the state, and so Aymeric didn't pursue and Wyra didn't mention it. Rather, they stayed close friends and Wyra would keep up correspondence with him to tell him of her ongoing adventures, promising he'd be welcome to join anytime he managed to find time for a break.
While initially not caring for him, Wyra grows to appreciate Estinien after he accepts the truths they learn and he is willing to change. Seeing his struggle with revenge reminds her to keep her own rage at those who hurt her friends and family tempered, for fear of letting herself go too far or it being used against her.
After seeing Alisaie again, she is drawn to her new magic style (red magic), and Alisaie helps to train Wyra in the basics. Wyra admires the mixture of magics, and warily agrees that having the capacity for melee combat if needed would benefit her. She takes to it instantly, and settles upon a mixture of magicks that use aspects of arcanism, red mage swordplay, conjury, and thaumaturgy. Alisaie takes both pride and frustration in how fast Wyra picked up her teachings, but stays a good-natured rival going forward.
Seeing her in combat at the battle against the other city-states, the title "violet mage" grows in use by the witnesses, as her purple-toned, aether glowed with each sword slash and unaspected magical blast.
As a gift for her efforts to help Ishgard, Aymeric presents her with a sword of her own with Ishgardian metalwork that she uses for a long time after.
Around the same time, she meets Unukalhai, who encourages her to defeat eikons loosed by Thordan. Upon learning of Unu's history and age, Wyra essentially adopts him as a little sibling and takes care to visit him regularly after. She grows quite close to him due to their shared experience of being orphaned while too young to save anyone.
She meets the Warriors of Darkness, says farewell to Minfillia, and then is reunited with the remaining scions.
The loss of Papalymo is gutwrenching for Wyra, but after her struggle with Haurchefant's death and her drive for revenge after, she tried to reign it in so she could focus on the task at hand to help Lyse free the Ala Mhigans going forward.
Stormblood
Facing Zenos for the first time, Wyra experiences true fear for the first time since facing Ifrit. She feels like a mouse hunted by a coeurl, out of her league and over her head with people depending on her. She steels herself to work harder, but fights fear throughout as Zenos and the other Garleans blaze their path through the Ala Mhigan resistance.
Traveling to Othard, Wyra struggles to regain her confidence and save those she can. Following Yugiri and being defeated once more by Zenos, who this time spares her with promise of coming back to her, she is only saved from spiraling by the success of the rebellion in Doma.
Meeting the Mol, she immediately adores Cirina and is intrigued by the beliefs and culture of the other au ra. She gladly throws herself into helping Hien win the Nadaam to gain the help of the steppe people, finding again that, when death isn't the end goal, she does enjoy the opportunity to test her combat skills and strengthen her magic.
When Zenos finally appears again and takes the form of Shinryu to fight her in Ala Mhigo, she is still frightened but resolved. She finds that facing him as a beast actually improves her focus and resolve, as she doesn't feel reservations about killing primals like she does humans. She finally triumphs, but is sickened when he chooses to end his life himself after.
When Wyra learns that Zenos survived somehow, and then that it was an ascian who caused it, she is more aggravated than in fear, knowing that, if it came to it, she could strike him down again to save more lives.
When the scions begin dropping, Wyra once more experiences fear -- but this time for her friends and the world they leave behind.
After being felled in combat by the Exarch's message while facing this new Zenos/Elidibus, she is honored and humbled to find Aymeric waiting at her bedside with the message that fighting is at a stalemate and she should pursue a cure for the Scions.
Shadowbringers
When transported to the First, Wyra is immensely agitated and anxious of what has become of her friends. The sin eaters horrify her, and the Exarch confuses and frustrates her. Learning that she was summoned to prevent her own death and another calamity, though, causes her to jump onboard immediately and throw her all into saving the shard.
Her relationship with Ardbert reminds her much of her relationship with her own brother. She pities him for his plight and wants to help, though she doesn't know how; still, she appreciates his company and they spend much time talking over the events of the story.
She immediately loathes Emet-Selch and doesn't trust him as far as she could throw him; still, she acts mostly cordial towards him, knowing that if he deigns to offer assistance and information, it was invaluable. Upon learning of his and the other Ascians' motivations for initiating the rejoinings, she feels sympathy, but strongly feels as though bringing back the past world is parallel to necromancy -- not only may things never return precisely to how they were, but sacrificing lives to raise others already dead is morally wrong.
She does feel instantaneous sadness and nostalgia upon seeing Emet's Amurot recreation in the Tempest, and similarly is attached to the shade of Hythlodaeus from the get-go. Despite this, though, she chooses to fight Emet to save the shards, and eventually merges with Ardbert. His consciousness absorbed by her own, she could recognize the thoughts of her own which were him pulling himself to the surface, but it largely fades into her own thoughts. One side-affect of the merge is that she does gain the ability to fight as a warrior using an axe of pure aether, though she blanks out and lets the Ardbert part of her consciousness take over for it, and so it unnerves her.
Upon Elidibus taking over the reins to fight the Ascian fight, Wyra was disgusted by his use of Ardbert's body, feeling personally offended and offended on Ardbert's behalf. In the end, she pities him, but knows her choice to fight him was necessary.

Endwalker/Myths of the Realm
Traveling with G'raha, Wyra copies his trick to create a shield of aether when needed to tank (without having Ardbert take over). She still hates tanking, but the shield grants her a bit of comfort.

Meeting Hydaelyn on the boat, she is very untrusting of her, having learned that she is a primal. She questions whether she has been tempered herself, and if that is why she cannot be tempered by other primals; knowing it, though, she realizes wouldn't mean anything, so she proceeds regardless.
She recognizes much of the Convocation's processes in the Forum, and finds mild amusement from it while remaining exceedingly frustrated by their games. She understands perhaps why Azem had gone against the Convocation in the end.
Thavnarian spices make her sick to her stomach, apart from the fish, so she lives on fish while visiting.
Meeting Fandaniel and seeing he is in Asahi's body disgusts her, and she is confused and concerned by his nihilism. She wishes she could reason with him but it is shown quickly she cannot. She is annoyed and dismissive of Zenos initially, but In From the Cold truly horrifies her and brings her back to the panic and fear of her first loss at Zenos's hand. She grows closer to Thancred in the aftermath, both having experienced possession at the hands of ascians (or ascian decedents).
After being forced to kill Zodiark, she feels crushing guilt at having brought about the final days, though she does recognize that Fandaniel would have caused it somehow either way.
Visiting Elpis is overwhelming to her, and though she is withdrawn, she finds herself befriending many people there in her search for answers. She is stunned by her soul's draw to Emet, Hythlodaus, and Venat, though she comes to like them herself (reluctantly, in Emet's case) the longer she spends there. She understands Hermes and, having struggled with similar darkness herself, she feels he could be shown a different path. She adores Meteion and has no suspicions that she would become the Endsinger until the transmission from the others arrive.
Leaving Elpis is heartbreaking for her, especially knowing the trials those people she had met would face, particularly Venat. Her faith in Hydaelyn is strengthened, though, and she returns with her mission in mind and ready to go.
Defeating Hydaelyn was exceedingly challenging, but partially because of her own feelings of friendship and love for Venat. She knows it is necessary, but still must lean more on the scions afterwards to keep her resolve.
Losing each of the scions in Ultima Thule was exceedingly difficult for her. Having found her strength through befriending them, she could hardly stand to walk as they each sacrificed themselves so she could move forth. When G'raha made his own sacrifice, she broke down in tears and had to fight her own despair and rage. The loss of the twins was enough to break her, if not for the fact she knew she would find a way to bring them back with Azem's magic -- all she had to do was make it through and defeat Meteion.
Teleporting the scions away in the final battle against the Endsinger, Wyra expects that she will die, but has made peace with it and is fully resolved to see it to its end. As such, when Zenos comes to her after and expects a fight, she agrees, though only because she knows he will never cease. She admits that while she enjoys sparring, she would never be as destructive and cruel as he had been, and that there is more to the world than fighting -- and at the least, that bliss he seeks can be won through fighting those who would hurt those he cares for. Not willing to see her side, he denies it, and they fight, but as they lay dying, he wills her to live and she is returned to the scions with nearly completely depleted aether and wounds that would be fatal if not for their immediate treatment. It takes her several months to recover in Old Sharlayan.
After the Endsinger fight as she recovers, she spends much time helping Krile and G'raha with the Students of Baldesion restoration, seeing as she cannot travel and must conserve her aether. She also spends time visiting the library and studying additional magicks. Upon recovering, she is asked by the researchers of the Aetherial Sea to help with a memory crystal, and she is sent into Pandaemonium the first time. Encountering Themis is shocking to her due to Azem's soul's memories, and she is left in a bit of a stupor as she returns to the present time. She largely keeps this adventure to herself as she processes, but Tataru suggests she gets her mind off of whatever it is by joining Estinien on a treasure hunt. Wyra agrees that helping Estinien help Thavnair is a good first step to clear her head.
This leads to her traveling to the void and a new world-ending challenge on the horizon.
Shortly after their first return from the Void, G'raha reaches out and informs her of a new mission to investigate the Phantom Realm, leading her to meet the Twelve.
After facing her goddess, Menphina, in battle and discussing her work in Pandaemonium, she was blessed by the goddess to aid her against Hephaistos. As a result, she developed additional white marks on her body. The blessing also grranted her a boost to ice-based skills/resistance to fire.
Completing the Pandaemonium series brings her some closure as far as the Ancients go, but she chooses to avoid going back to Elpis for her own emotional health, and she dives into helping Y'shtola research Void traversal and training in melee combat with Zero.
After the completion of Myths of the Realm, she is saddened for the loss of the deites, especially Menphina -- but she has found herself to be closer to Derek, and takes joy in his choice to stay past his duty's end, as Venat had.
Dawntrail
Decides that, after all the fighting she's had to do, she wants to take a break from doing so much harm, even if it was for the good of the universe.
Stays in Old Sharlayan and studies with Alphinaud to improve her healing abilities, declaring that she will take on the role of healer for any adventuring parties who needed her. She couldn't resist training a bit of pictomancy when Krile learned it, but is determined to focus on healing.
Meets Wuk Lamat and is talked into helping in her bid for Dawnservant, if only to travel and see what Emet-Selch had described of the Golden City.
Wuk Lamat is overwhelming to her, being an extremely outgoing extravert while Wyra is an introvert. After meeting the rude and bad-vibe-ridden other claimants, Wyra was focused on helping her to win if only to prevent someone who could cause more serious damage from occurring.
When Wuk Lamat's father challenges her to a duel and explains his plans to her, Wyra is reassured. During the fight she is forced to swap to heavier combat magics to keep up, and enjoyed it, but only because she knew they weren't fighting to kill.
When Valigarmanda breaks free, Wyra is anxious about breaking her vow to herself to act as a healer for this entire trip -- but she steps back and with the scions and claimants fighting together, they are able to defeat the weakened creature. Improves her self-confidence as a healer.
When Wuk Lamat is kidnapped, Wyra and Koana pair up and get to know each other better as they work together to rescue her.
Does get along with Koana very well after he starts opening up, and Wyra realizes that she honestly thinks that he would do a good job as Dawnservant if he were more appreciative of the traditions of his homeland. As he begins to see this and steps back from the competition, Wyra respects him more and they become closer friends. Wuk Lamat teases them about being a couple but is utterly clueless that both are mildly interested in one another.
Wyra stays back and quiet for the bulk of the story so as to avoid interfering unless needed, offering healing and advice as requested.
She is asked by Koana and Wuk Lamat to stay in Tuliyollal, but recognizes she still has things to do. She seriously considers it, though, since she could focus on being a healer there and was less recognized and hassled. She decides to travel with Erinville to his home to give her a break from the pressure, as well as to see the region.
Develops a close relationship with Erinville, both being quieter introverts. Wuk Lamat constantly interrupted them both, but when alone, they got along swimmingly and Wyra was looking forward to traveling north with him after the Dawnservants are appointed.
When the Alexandrians attack, she is overwhelmed and upset and has to resort back to offensive magic. Isn't able to prevent many deaths.
When the scions and Wuk Lamat return to the party, she attempts to stay healer role until the last fight against the last trial.
She is wary of Sphene from the start and very uncomfortable around the technology. She is not comfortable in Solution 9 and feels the soul-spending devices are an affront to nature.
Seeing Azem's key piqued her curiosity again, and she felt the need to keep it to ensure its safety.
After the story, she is against fighting in the Arcadion until she is pressured into it. She has no interest in celebrity here, too, but once she finds that she will be freeing souls by winning, she thinks she has to. Fights under the name the Violet Witch.
She gets along with the miqo'te sisters immediately, and appreciates the Black Cat's guidance. Meeting the oldest sister terrifies her because she doesn't want death to be a risk for those she fights. Learning the reality of the situation concerns her deeply and she vows to help take down the institution and save their sister.
Between fights, she is studying pictomancy more.
She visits Koana and Wuk Lamat (now Lamaty'i) in the capitol regularly and helps around the continent where she is able.
Stays particularly close with Koana, but he and Lamaty'i are too bussy with their new duties to leave the capitol.
Ancient/Azem
Name: Iris > Azem
Personality: Studious, focused, eclectic, overeager/enthusiastic, child prodigy who grew into a role she could throw herself into fully
Orientation: Asexual/biromantic
Relationships: Closest with Themis/Elidibus due to similar ages, history, and personalities; adorably shipped ace pair. Had Venat as mentor; became close with Hades and Hythlodaus after becoming Azem. Too devoted to work as Azem and traveling to officially take a partner, but Themis/Elidibus was next closest thing in an open relationship.
Fighting Style: Ranged magic/rapier when close (no spell focus)
Transformation: A slim female figure with long hair, eight eyes, four arms, and two golden wings. Spiderweb motif. Legs and arms webbed with glittering webs, long skirts made of webbing. Carries and fights with a sword and magical blasts.
A prodigious magic user with little soul sight but strong future sight. Iris was gifted from an early age and could make friends regardless of the situation. She had a way with creatures and did whatever she could to help prevent disasters she witnessed visions of, gaining a reputation as a weird kid but helpful and creative. On her journeys, the prior Azem, Venat, found her after she rescued her village from an angered bear. Recognizing her gifts, Venat took her on as a mentee, grooming her to become the next Azem after Venat stepped down despite Iris's young age. Iris got to meet members of the convocation while shadowing Venat, befriending some such as Elidibus, only slightly younger than her, and endearing herself to Hythlodaeus, and by extension, Emet-Selch. When Venat vacated her position, Iris was the obvious choice, and she grew into her role quickly. She and Elidibus bonded strongly over their shared experience of being young and serving the star, and Elidibus was perhaps her strongest ally in ensuring that she could do what she felt was needed to help people on the star, even if it went against traditional responses. Elidibus was entertained by her fresh insight and personality, and the pair slowly grew into what many would consider a couple of soul mates, though not vocally nor exclusively. Being dedicated to their duties, and Iris seeking to travel the world, they didn't have overly much time to spend together. Iris did made any excuse to come talk to him and communicated with him frequently on her travels to entertain him with stories of what she had seen.Iris, Hythlodaus, and Emet also grew much closer as time passed, and she called on them frequently to help in her missions. When the final days began to appear in Iris's premonitions, she tried telling the convocation, and many didn't believe her for the sheer scale of what she described. Though her friends did, the process of the Convocation required too long to discuss it; though Elidibus personally believed Iris, he had to find proof other than just her vision. Seeing the death and destruction to come, and seeing the convocation's struggle to determine a path, Iris grew upset and left to try to save everyone she could on her own and to defend them. This put her on thin ice with much of the Convocation, and when they decided to summon Zodiark to stop the Final Days, she was vehemently opposed to Elidibus's sacrifice and renounced her seat so she could discover her own solution that wouldn't sacrifice anyone. Shortly after, she became overwhelmed by herself and was killed by blasphemies, only to have her soul sundered when Venat ascended to Hydaelyn.
